1 · Frequently asked questions

Curate asks for full access to my photo library — is that necessary?

Yes: Curate needs to read your photos to group similar shots and let you choose which to keep, and it needs delete access to apply the choices you approve. You can also grant Limited Access to specific albums from iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos, and change your selection at any time from Curate's Settings tab.

Sorting a large library feels slow or the app gets warm

Photo analysis runs entirely on your device, which takes more effort on very large libraries or older iPhones. Curate automatically reduces analysis quality when your phone is warm, and you can pause on-device intelligence for 15 minutes or an hour from Settings if you'd rather sort manually for a while.

The photo marked "Best" isn't the one I would have picked

The recommendation is a starting point, not a decision — tap any other photo in the group to select it instead before choosing "Keep selected." If you'd rather sort without recommendations, turn off On-device intelligence in Settings.

Did Curate already delete my photos?

No — nothing is deleted while you sort. Your choices are queued locally, and Curate shows you a summary before anything happens. Deletion only occurs when you explicitly apply your choices, at which point iOS itself shows its own confirmation dialog. Until you confirm that dialog, no photo is touched, and anything deleted afterwards still goes to your Recently Deleted album like any normal deletion.

The Trips mode doesn't find any places

Trips groups photos using the location already attached to them by the Camera app at the moment they were taken. Photos taken with location services off, screenshots, or photos saved from messaging apps usually have no location metadata and won't appear in a trip.

I bought Curate Pro but it's locked on another device

Open Settings → Restore purchases inside Curate. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account used for the original purchase.

How to delete my data

Curate has no account and no server — your sorting decisions and preferences are stored only on your device. Deleting the app removes all of it. See the privacy policy for the full picture of what's stored and where.

I'm switching to a new iPhone

Install Curate on the new device and sign in with the same Apple Account, then use Restore purchases in Settings to unlock Curate Pro again. Sorting decisions made on the old device are stored locally on that device and don't transfer automatically.

✅ What we can't help with by e-mail Never send payment details (card numbers, etc.) by e-mail — purchases go exclusively through Apple's own billing system, which we can't see or modify. For a billing issue, contact Apple Support directly.

For anything not covered above: contact@catchit.fr. Mention your iPhone model and iOS version if it's a technical issue — it saves a back-and-forth.
